Arts graduates have wide employment opportunities in Government, MNCs and private organizations. They have bright prospects to take up competitive examinations. They have to fulfill the conditions prescribed by the Mysore University for internal assessment, i.e., writing of tests, submission of assignments, compulsory attendance (75%), etc. The college offers various combinations such as - HEP, HEK, HEG, HEM, HSP, HGP, HE Phil, Psy SG, HE Psy, HEE, Psy S Eng, HEUr, HE San, HEH, HES.
Commerce graduates are in high demand in all sectors such as, Banks, Insurance, Transport, Communication, Tourism, Taxation, Hotel Industry, Government, MNCs, Private Organisations, etc. They can opt career in CA, ICWAI, ACS, CFA and MBA. They can also take up competitive examinations. Skill development activities are conducted to provide practical exposure through writing the records, by visiting the Industries, Financial Companies, Income tax, Sales tax Institutions and service industry. To develop communication skill, a Viva-Voce is conducted on their subjects. To qualify, for this degree the students have to write tests, assignments and have 75% of attendance as per university stipulation.
In the wake of Globalization, management education is becoming promising and fruitful course highly demanded in MNCs, consultancy, foreign trade, hospitality and service industry. Students of BBM can pursue higher education in MBA, PG Diplomas in Business Administration, HRM, International Trade, Finance and FOREX management. The college aims at imparting quality education in management by providing exposure through industrial visits, conducting guest lectures, seminars, case studies, role playing and management games to develop future managers. Students of management have to write records on skills and functions of management through discussion with the managers of various industries. IA of the students is done based on their performance in Viva-Voce, Tests, submission of assignments related to the management and compulsory attendance of 75% as prescribed by the University.
The AICTE has given approval to start MBA programme from the academic year 2008-09 only for women students. Admission to the course is based on the CET conducted by the VTU. The University of Mysore allots the seats through counselling.
The medium of instruction in the college is bilingual. Kannada and English for Commerce and Arts students except BBM. For BBM, the medium of instruction is only English. The students have the option to write the examination both in Kannada or English. Along with the major subjects, the second languages offered by the college are Kannada, Hindi, Sanskrit and Urdu.
The academic year is from June to April and is according to the rules and regulation of Mysore University. Saturdays are half working days. The College timings are 8AM to 5.10PM on week days and on Saturdays 8AM to 2.40PM. The interview timing with the Principal is between 3PM to 5PM on all the week days except Saturdays.
Admission for BA, B.Com and BBM courses is done by the college according to the roster system complying with the seat matrix and university rules and regulations. The university will select students for MA in English, MA in Economics courses through counselling and admission to MBA course is through PGCET by VTU and counselling.
Fee for the different courses are collected as per the rate prescribed by the Government and University of Mysore. Fee structure is subject to change from time to time as per the direction of Government or University.
